Hi, I'm Jeff. I've been studying pinball longer than I've been playing it competitively — and I've been playing competitively for a while. I know the machines, the manufacturers, and the quiet gaps between what players want and what the industry ships.
Vanza is a solo project right now. That's a feature, not a bug: decisions stay close to the players and the venues, and the software ships as fast as I can cut it.
What is Vanza?
Vanza is a leaderboard platform for pinball. Players capture their scores with their phones. Machines get their own live leaderboards. Venues get a TV wall display and the tools to run it all.
There's no hardware to install. The Vanza app reads the score off any readable display — DMD, LCD, or alphanumeric — and the leaderboard updates in seconds.
Why we built this.
Pinball has always been a scoring game. What it has never had is a trustworthy, venue-agnostic way to track those scores. Existing solutions either integrate with specific machines (leaving 20 years of mixed hardware out) or require manual entry (leaving trust on the floor).
AI score capture changes that. We don't need to integrate. We just need to read the screen — and verify it well enough that venues and players can both believe the board.
